Survey and Inventory of Amani Botanical Garden - Results

ABG boundaries

A total border length of 11,556 m or about 12 km were covered for the whole external boundary, which involves 15 corner stations (see attached Table I and Map 2).  Only slight variations occurred on beacons no. 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12 and 13, when compared to the maps developed by Greenway.

Mapping

A 1:5,000 map of the whole Amani Botanical Garden showing the external and internal boundaries and information was prepared. All ABG blocks and compartments were mapped and the position of the species in the compartments and some of the big plots were indicated by means of numbers on the maps. These were correspondingly marked in the field by temporary erected pegs (see attached MapĀ 2).

This map will be completed by the Cartographic Sub-Unit of the Forestry and Beekeeping Division. The printed final copies should be coloured to add information and simplify the clarifications on compartment boundaries.
